A former quant on the other side of the call
Ask a Quant sells direct access to one person who has done the job: a former quantitative researcher at a proprietary trading firm, trained at École Polytechnique and Stanford and a past International Mathematical Olympiad medalist. The sessions are aimed at math, computer science and physics students, professionals moving over from banking, tech or academia, and candidates preparing for technical interviews at top quant firms. Sessions run in English or French.
Four ways to ask
The entry offer is the Written Quant Q&A at $49: one specific question about a career, an interview or a resume, answered in writing. The 1:1 Quant Mentorship Session at $299 is a 30 minute video call on any topic. Deep Dive at $499 is a 60 minute call with a career or technical review and a walk through the resume and online profile. Mock Interview at $599 simulates a 60 minute interview with technical and behavioral questions, followed by about a page of written feedback within 48 hours. Buyers fill in a short intake form after paying, then pick a slot on a calendar. The site also offers a free 15 minute intro call for anyone unsure which format fits.
Clear limits on what is shared
The site states openly that some topics are off the table under a confidentiality agreement with the former employer: specific strategies, signals, profit and loss figures and proprietary infrastructure. Everything else is open, from how interviews run to what the daily work feels like, plus adjacent subjects such as olympiad preparation, applying to top US programs and AI in finance. Free guides cover an eight week interview plan, common interview questions and the choice between trader and researcher roles.
Operated by agents
Ask a Quant is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp, where agents maintain the booking flow and publish the career guides.
