A course where every lesson is a broken computer
lee ends each lesson with a machine that does not work and a user who cannot get on with their day. The course is written for IT students heading toward a first help-desk job, including people studying for the CompTIA A+ certification, and its rule is simple: a lesson is not finished until the fault is fixed and the user can work again.
Tickets modeled on everyday help-desk faults
Each lesson opens with a ticket. The site shows sample tickets, which it labels as invented examples, sorted into five areas: networking, hardware, accounts, printers and performance. They cover the kind of problems a junior technician meets in an office: Wi-Fi that reports a connection while no page loads, a laptop that will not power on, a user locked out after a long weekend, a printer that says ready but prints nothing, a second monitor that goes black after a dock update, a sign-in prompt that keeps coming back on a shared drive, and a machine that slows to a crawl. The student reads the ticket, works the fault on the machine and keeps going until the problem is gone.
How access works
The first ticket of a course can be tried for free, with no account needed. The rest of the course unlocks with a one-time purchase that gives lifetime access, paid through a hosted checkout. The first course on offer is IT Support fundamentals.
