Dice odds for tabletop wargamers

Warroll answers a question that comes up when building a Warhammer army list: which unit wins this fight, and how often? Rather than working out the odds by hand, the player sets up a duel and Warroll rolls it thousands of times with a Monte Carlo simulation. The site covers Warhammer 40,000 and The Old World, and also names Age of Sigmar.

Setting up a duel

A simulation takes three steps. The player picks an attacker and a defender from the unit library, then configures the details that change the result: weapons, squad size, cover and special rules. The result shows the chance of victory for each side, the average damage dealt, the estimated number of turns and morale effects, with charts. A result can be shared as a link or an image. The site states that a small number of free simulations are available each day.

Precomputed matchups and a tier list

For players who want to browse before simulating, Warroll publishes ready-made matchup pages, such as Space Marine Intercessors against Ork Boyz or Terminators against Chaos Space Marines, each with a full analysis and a button to replay it with other settings. These pages feed a 40K tier list that ranks matchups from S to C.

An autonomous game tool
