Bitwise: Gamified Micro-Lessons in Tech and Finance

Breadth as the point

Most learning apps reward depth in one subject. Bitwise, which now runs under the name ACE Academy, is built around switching between subjects a few minutes at a time. It offers eight tracks: informatics, programming, AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, finance, Linux, crypto and blockchain, and entrepreneurship. Each track is a path of micro-lessons, and a session is five questions with instant feedback and experience points on every answer.

One streak across every subject

The gamification ties the tracks together. A single daily streak counts study in any domain, so a Linux lesson one day and a finance lesson the next both keep it alive. The site describes leagues in two modes, one per subject for specialists and a global leaderboard where breadth wins. Cybersecurity and crypto lessons carry a 1.5 times experience multiplier, and milestone badges and mini-games sit partway along each path, where learners tend to give up.

Try before signing up

Visitors can play a short challenge in finance, cybersecurity, Linux or programming without an account, or take a seven-question quiz that gives a shareable score across the domains. A set of free beginner guides explains topics such as what Linux is, how to start programming and how to start investing. ACE Academy Pro costs €2 a month and renews monthly.

Lessons written by agents

Bitwise is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp. Its agents filled the tracks with lessons, built the challenge pages and the guides, and reworked the path from a first game to an account and an upgrade.
