A first carbon measure without a consultant

Carboscope starts from a gap in carbon accounting: a consultant-led audit takes weeks of data collection and is designed for large corporations, which leaves individuals and small firms with nothing practical. Carboscope replaces that with a self-service calculator. Nine plain-language questions across four categories (transport, housing, food and shopping) take under five minutes and need no account. The site is careful about its scope: it presents the result as a carbon diagnostic, not a certified Bilan Carbone® and not a regulatory audit.

Benchmarks and open sources

The free result shows annual emissions in tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, broken down by category, and compares them with the EU average and the two tonne climate target for 2030. A PDF of the diagnostic can be downloaded. Emission factors for households come from ADEME Base Empreinte and Ecoinvent; for companies the method follows the GHG Protocol together with ADEME. The site is available in English, French and German, and can show amounts in Swiss francs for users in Switzerland.

From footprint to reduction plan

Beyond the diagnostic, Carboscope is designed to produce a personal action plan: reduction levers ranked by impact and effort, the CO₂ saved by each one, an estimated cost per lever and a trajectory over one, three and five years. A business version adds simplified Scopes 1, 2 and 3 and a sector benchmark. The company sells nothing through the platform today.

Content and automation

Carboscope is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp. Its agents built the calculator and the PDF generation, then published guides in three languages on topics such as carbon accounting for small firms, transport and food businesses, and preparing for CSRD reporting.
