A score built on running costs, not sticker price

Carpit is a decision tool for private buyers of second-hand cars. Instead of ranking listings by asking price, it gives each car a Total Cost Score from 0 to 100 that folds in depreciation, fuel, insurance and servicing. The buyer sets a budget and an expected yearly mileage, and the score is recalculated for that usage, so a cheap car with heavy running costs can drop below a pricier one that holds its value. The site labels itself a beta and says its cockpit currently runs on demo data.

The Leasing Debunker

The second tool takes the terms of a lease and sets the total paid next to the net cost of buying an equivalent used car. The gap is shown in euros as a leasing premium, together with the residual value a buyer keeps at the end. Carpit's stated view is that leasing is often a poor deal for individuals, and the tool makes that comparison concrete with a person's own numbers rather than a generic example.

Guides and a paid report for French buyers

Much of the written content targets buyers in France: guides on sensible used cars under €10,000, leasing pitfalls, maintenance costs, reliable models and used electric cars. A TCO calculator estimates ownership cost over several years, and a Smart Buy scorer rates a given model, year and price against the market. The Carpit Premium Report, a downloadable report built from the calculator, is listed at €9.90.
