Questions that change with the trade
Cession Commerce estimates what a French small business, a "fonds de commerce", is worth. Its difference is that the questionnaire adapts to the trade. A bakery owner is asked whether bread is made on site and whether the miller contract can be transferred; a bar-tabac owner about the drinks license and the share of press and lottery sales; a hotel about rooms and booking platforms. The site lists bakeries, butchers, restaurants, fast food outlets, hair salons, garages, dry cleaners, florists and grocers among the covered trades.
Three methods, one range
The answers feed three approaches that are cross-checked: published industry scales referenced by the tax administration, a multiple of profit specific to each sector, and local comparable sales in the same department when they exist. The output is a low, central and high figure, with each scale citing its source and date. The site stresses that the result is indicative and not a formal appraisal. The owner needs no account and pays nothing.
Paid for by the professionals
The model is two-sided. Accountants, agents and buyers get a professional area with an anonymized catalog by trade and department, after a check of their company registration number. A seller's identity is shared only after that owner agrees, case by case. Professionals buy access to these files; the Pack of 3 Files is listed at €200.
