Étapes maps four historic routes toward Compostela: the Via Podiensis, Via Lemovicensis, Via Turonensis, and the Voie d'Arles. Each route appears on an interactive map with distinct colors. The first eight stages of the Via Podiensis carry real data covering accommodation, heritage sites, shops, and water points, with enrichment continuing through later stages toward Conques and beyond.
Planning a walk day by day
The Mon Chemin view gives walkers a daily overview with Open-Meteo weather, villages, shops, water points, and lodging options. Walkers can build a personalized itinerary by selecting stages, then track distance, elevation gain, days, and progress. A Progressive Web App called Mode Marche sends geolocated notifications about nearby heritage roughly 200 meters ahead, and caches content for offline use on the trail.
Tools for accommodation hosts
Hosts sign up through a seven step flow, build a public profile, and manage beds with a printable A4 calendar. The platform supports multiple payment methods including cash, card, cheque, transfer, and donativo, and handles reservations. A searchable /hebergements listing helps pilgrims find gîtes by stage. Access is offered through Pass Chemin and Pass Pèlerin options, with a per night commission on bookings. The wider goal is rural economic connection, linking pilgrims with local hosts and businesses.
