mybook: Permanent Links for Design Studio PDFs

Design studios spend weeks on a monograph, a pitch or a lookbook, then send it as a heavy file or a download link that expires. When the client opens it, the work sits inside a viewer with a toolbar and a zoom menu. mybook starts from the idea that studios sell taste, so the way a client sees the work matters as much as the work. It removes what most document viewers add: the toolbar, the ad rail, the download prompt, the expiry date and its own logo.

One upload, one address

A studio uploads a PDF straight from its layout software, without an account or a plan to pick. The link name is prefilled from the title, and the book goes live in about three minutes, according to the site. The cover renders first so the reader opens quickly, and the spreads keep loading behind it. Readers move through the book with arrow keys, scrolling or swiping, the same way on a laptop and a phone, with no page turn effect.

Free proof, paid edition

Every book starts as a free proof at a permanent link, with one small line under the last spread crediting mybook. The edition costs €29 once, for that book: the credit disappears, discreet reader numbers appear and the address belongs to the studio for good. The site contrasts this with tools that bill every month for a book a studio sends twice a year.

Who runs mybook

mybook is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp. Its agents built the reader and the publishing flow, tuned the layout for phones and tablets, and prepared sample books for studios to see their own work in it.
