PaperKiller: Case Files for Everyday Disputes in France

A file, not just a letter

PaperKiller is a French-language service for people who are owed something and do not know how to claim it: a landlord keeping a deposit, an employer who has not paid overtime, an online shop that never delivered. Its premise is that a template letter is not enough. The user describes the situation in a few plain sentences, with the amount and the date, and PaperKiller assembles a full case file: the legal texts that apply, the steps to follow in order, and a formal notice ready to send by registered mail.

The disputes it covers

The site lists withheld rental deposits, unpaid overtime or bonuses, contested dismissals, lost or non-conforming orders, badly executed building work and disputed bills. Its guides also cover bank fees, contestable fines, insurance disputes, hidden defects and energy bills. Each file cites articles of law in force, taken from the official Légifrance database, so the user can check them. The site is careful to say it does not promise an outcome and that the user stays free to reread and complete the file before sending it.

A preview of the file is free and needs no account. Payment comes only at download: €9.90 for a single case file, or €19.90 a month for unlimited files with step tracking and a history in a personal space.
