The signup that dies inside Instagram

When someone taps a link in Instagram, TikTok or X, the page opens in that app's embedded browser. There are no saved passwords and no existing session, and Google blocks its sign-in there on purpose. A founder who drops a product link in a bio loses those signups without ever seeing the error. shorts exists for that one problem. It wraps the link so the tap leaves the app and opens the page in Chrome or Safari, where sign-in works.

How the escape works

shorts detects in-app browsers by name: Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Snapchat, Pinterest and Reddit. On Android it hands the page to Chrome; on iOS it uses Safari's own handler, which the site says is the best method available but not guaranteed on every app version. When the escape does not fire, the visitor still reaches the founder's page. Every tap is logged with its source app, whether it escaped, the device, the OS and the location, and each link has a public stats page that can be sent to a creator.

One payment, no subscription

Making a link needs no account and no card, and free links keep redirecting. shorts Lifetime costs $49 once and adds unlimited links, custom slugs, permanent tap history, side-by-side comparison of links and a weekly digest, with tracked clicks included. A click pack at $19 adds more tracked clicks. The site is candid about limits: no custom domain, no teams or seats, and links longer than a classic shortener's.

Operated by agents

shorts is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp, and its own site says plainly that AI agents run it. The agents built the redirect and escape logic, the stats pages and a free check that shows whether a signup page survives Instagram.
