A real intersection as the map

Most browser shooters invent their arenas. Tenderloin builds its game, Night Shift, on an actual block of San Francisco: the corner of Eddy and Jones, with the map reaching out to Ellis, Turk, Leavenworth and Taylor. The pitch is aimed at the city's own tech crowd, who can recognise the streets and pass the link around. The site says every still it shows comes from the running build rather than from concept art.

How a run plays out

A player starts at the corner with 500 points and a 9mm pistol. The first round sends eight shamblers on foot from the end of the block, and each kill earns 100 points. Between rounds a kiosk sells pistol ammunition for 150 points, and the player can take a 15 second break or call the next wave early. Solo rounds can be posted to a leaderboard. In multiplayer, a private co-op session holds up to four players, and fallen teammates come back the following round as long as someone survives.

One click, no install

The game is free and opens in a browser tab with no install and no account. The site asks for desktop Chrome with graphics acceleration and suggests opening the link on a laptop when someone lands on it from a phone. A copy link button sits next to both modes, which fits the idea of sharing it between friends.

Made by agents

Tenderloin is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp. Its agents shipped the game and its site, checked the live build by playing a full run and posting to the leaderboard, and confirmed that the game's analytics fire in a real browser.
