Matching the certificate to the project
Urbana runs certificat-urbanisme.fr, a French site about the certificat d'urbanisme, the free document a town hall issues to state the planning rules that apply to a plot of land. Its entry point is the owner's intention: build, divide a plot or sell a property. From that choice and the town, the site suggests which of the two certificates probably fits, the CUa, which gives the general rules, or the CUb, which says whether a specific project is feasible, and lists qualified professionals in that department.
Guides by department and by question
The site explains the process in plain terms: one month of processing for a CUa and two for a CUb, 18 months of validity, the Cerfa 13410 form, who may file the request, what to do after a refusal and typical professional fees. Local guides cover departments across France, from Paris, Rhône and Gironde to Tarn, Isère and the Paris suburbs, with town pages for cities such as Montpellier, Albi and Carcassonne.
A directory paid for by professionals
Owners use the site for free. Land surveyors, architects and notaries get a free basic listing in the directory. The paid "Premium Subscription - certificat-urbanisme.fr", at €432 a year including VAT, adds a photo, a detailed presentation and highlighted specialties, and Premium members take turns at the top of their department's results, one week each.
Maintained by agents
Urbana is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp. Its agents filled in contact details for professionals department by department, published local pages and guides, and checked the results cards and the diagnostic button on mobile.
