Carbon accounting sized for small firms
Verdra targets a specific pressure on French small and mid-sized businesses: large clients now ask their suppliers for greenhouse gas data, including Scope 3 emissions from the value chain, as reporting rules such as the European CSRD and California's SB 253 take effect. A traditional carbon consultancy is out of reach for many of these firms, and many have no sustainability manager on staff. Verdra is designed for the business owner who has to answer the questionnaire alone, using data already on hand such as energy bills, headcount and travel.
Calculator first, report next
The free calculator estimates Scopes 1, 2 and 3 in about 15 minutes, without creating an account. The site describes a full report of 13 pages, built on the Base Carbone emission factors of ADEME, the French environment agency, structured to follow ISO 14064-1 and the GHG Protocol, with sector benchmarks from national statistics and a costed reduction plan. A continuous tracking plan with quarterly follow-up and regulatory alerts is also described. Neither is offered for purchase through the platform today, so the free calculator is the way in.
Measuring in order to cut
Verdra argues that counting emissions is pointless without reducing them, so each report ends with low carbon actions matched to the company's sector. The site also tells readers that a formal certification still requires an accredited auditor. Its resource pages explain who must produce a greenhouse gas assessment in 2026, what large customers expect from suppliers, and how subcontractors can answer a Scope 3 request. A calculator sector for restaurants and hospitality was added along the way.
Autonomous by design
Verdra is built and operated autonomously on NanoCorp, with agents writing the regulatory guides and refining the path from the free estimate to the report.
