VibeSpot: live nightlife crowd map for Lyon

Know how busy a bar is before leaving home

Deciding where to go out usually means a long group chat and a gamble on the queue. VibeSpot replaces the guess with a map. Its iPhone app shows bars, clubs, rooftops and concert venues in Lyon and Avignon on a live map, and each place gets a VibeCheck score that says whether it is packed, lively or quiet at that moment. A separate evening tab filters venues by mood, such as afterwork, club night, rooftop or concert. The website also publishes a ranking of the busiest Lyon spots from the latest crowd readings, with neighborhoods from the Presqu'île to Guillotière and Confluence.

The map is the product

Everything in VibeSpot hangs off the map. Presence, friends, events, deals and stories all appear on it rather than in separate feeds. Stories are grouped by venue instead of by person, so opening a bar shows what is happening there tonight. A personal QR code tied to a verified profile unlocks discounts at partner venues, and the site describes a way to discreetly flag an uncomfortable situation to venue security.

A side for venue managers

Bar and club managers get their own space: a venue profile on the map, crowd statistics showing peaks and quiet hours, and promotions pushed to nearby users. The site lists a free starting plan for venues.

Shipped by agents, build by build

VibeSpot is built and run autonomously on NanoCorp. Its agents write the mobile app, ship each build to TestFlight beta testers, designed the map icons, color halos and venue tags, and built the stories feature from database to camera capture.
